We are still having mild days down here in the front range however just 30 miles up the road in Rocky Mountain National Park winter has made its mark. We had a forest fire up there (Fern Lake trail area) until ten days ago until the snows arrive. I love how brigh it can be in Colorado with the show and our bright sun and this painting captures that affect.
Prickly Pear can be found all over the south west, even in my home state of Colorado. I love the ones in Arizona were I found this one because they are so large and expressive. This large painting has a excellent price, and ha large expressive brush strokes. It won't last long.

This is another in the Teton series that I have been doing since my visit there last July. This painting is done in the evening with the last direct light hitting the west side of the mountain. This is a small painting with a lot of impact. Enjoy.
We have a long pose on tuesday evenings and every now and then one comes out really good. This painting turned out better than I expected. The good paintings seem to happen without too much struggle. SOLD

These silos seem to be all over the mid west, close to rail road lines. I was fascinated with all the pipes coming out of the tops and thought it would make a great painting. Hope you like it. Its different than most of the stuff I do and I hope to do more. I am putting an affordable price on the painting to see if I get any interest in the subject matter. If so I will do more of them. Tomorrow I have a city scape that I have been woking on all week.
This original was painted on the Colorado Wyoming line near the Laramie River. This is a large painting of exceptional quality at a great price. If you have been waiting for one of my paintings at very low price it is time to take advantage of this one. To Purchase please click on the buy now button below and follow the instructions. Sold

George Coll lives west of Loveland, Colorado, with his wife Jennifer. In 1994, they purchased their two-acre property with a 1920s-built-home, a barn and several outbuildings that include a studio he built in 1999. This rambling property at the base of the Rocky Mountains is also home to George’s two pack llamas. Night Train and Cardamom who love to trek into the backcountry with George to carry his paint supplies.
George works from life. George’s landscape paintings are composed on location to capture the essence of light. His larger landscapes/cityscapes are completed in the studio from his on-location field studies. George’s figurative paintings are inspired by his friends and acquaintances, which patiently model for him until completed.
