Today's painting 3-4-08

South Park Church 6 x 8 oil on canvas on hardboard SOLD
This little community church is in the South Park town of Jefferson Colorado. I love South Park because it is one of those places in Colorado that has not been developed. Jefferson is at the base of Kenosha pass on Hyw 285. This artery goes from Denver all the way to Taos and beyond. Taking this route is to turn back in history and to experience the rich history and culture of southern Colorado. Two hundred years ago this area belonged to Mexico. The Families have roots that go back to the land grant days before this country was taken over by the United States. There is lots to paint down there.
