The painting was inspired by the late winter light we have here in Colorado. The ares west of my home in Loveland Colorado is a wonderful place to paint. I found this spot on the big Thompson River between Estes Park Colorado and Loveland. The painting recently won Best of Show on April 10th 2010 at the AANC (Artists Association of Northern Colorado) competition in Ft. Collins Colorado. The painting will be hanging in the AANC show at the Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins until the completion of the show on May 8th.
