High Coundty In June #0714E

High Country In June #0714E
Oil on stretched canvas
Size 11x14 inches unframed
In late June I hiked up to Andrews Glacier.  Andrews is located in the Glacier Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park.  I like this area because it reminds me of the type of paintings that Carl Rungus did in the early part of the 20th century.  Strong, visible, determined paint strokes.  The air was thin and luckely the weather was cooperative.
